The “Organic Berry Cherry Blend” exclusively sold at Costco is being recalled by Nature’s Touch due to an ongoing Hepatitis A outbreak that might be linked to this product according to Canadian health officials.

 

The allegedly contaminated product has a “Best Before” date of March 15th. 2018 and it is unknown if the recalled food was also distributed here, in the States. During the investigation of a food borne illness breakout conducted by the CFIA they decided to request a recall.

 

Since it is not known if the product made it to the US we recommend to bear this in mind and make sure you don’t buy this food that can be identified by the following:

 

  • Nature’s Touch brand Organic Berry Cherry Blend
  • 5 kg (3.3 lb)
  • Best Before dates up to and including 2018 MR 15
  • UPC 8 73668 00179 1

Throw away or return these product to the store, keep in mind that food contaminated with Hepatitis or other virus may not display any foul smells or look spoiled.

 

Hepatitis A can be a mild illness that lasts a few days or a severe one that will affect you for months, it’s symptoms can take up to 20 days to manifest. Symptoms for Hepatitis A include:

  • Loss of appetite
  • Stomach cramps
  • Fever
  • Jaundice (yellow skin and eyes)
  • Fatigue
  • Dark urine
