How To Know If Your Kid Has Gingivitis

Gingivitis is what results from laziness. Be honest, when was the last time you thoroughly flossed? Do you rinse for thirty seconds every time you brush? Do you brush at least twice a day? Let’s face it, we all have our share of bad habits. Don’t let those bad habits reach into the next generation. Make sure your kids get into a routine so that by the time they’re independent it’s second nature to them.

Gingivitis is the technical term for gum inflammation. It’s the first step into gum disease. Gingivitis is easily reversed by simply changing your habits. However, it’s also a sign that you’re headed in the wrong direction. So take that into account the next time you notice your mouth bleeding for no good reason. Symptoms pop up every so often amongst adults, but they shouldn’t be a problem for the youngsters. And if you do notice them, that means you need to pay a bit closer attention to your child’s dental habits.

If you do find your child suffering from symptoms of gingivitis, don’t panic. Go out and buy him or her a brush that’s labeled as having soft bristles. That will reduce the discomfort while your child recovers. Aside from that, you should just consider putting a bit more time into ensuring he or she gets into a better routine.
